The Hanoi Smart Report (HSR) is an operational data system implemented by VNPT Hanoi, serving local government units (district, commune, ward-level People’s Committees) during phase 1 (in 2022), and is expected to expand to other stakeholders in phase 2 (in 2023).
The data center functions to technically integrate and operate the city-wide information technology (IT) systems. It serves as the focal point for building and managing shared information systems and databases of the city, providing data access for government agencies, organizations, and citizens. Communication Network for the August Revolution In preparation for the General Uprising, from August 13 to 15, 1945, the Central Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party held a meeting in Tân Trào and issued a resolution on launching a nationwide general uprising. In Hanoi, amid the revolutionary fervor, communication between Hanoi and the Central Committee based in Việt Bắc became more crucial than ever. Assigned with the critical task of maintaining this link, individuals worked tirelessly to find spare parts, repair, restore, and assemble equipment such as telephones, radios, and telegraphs, ensuring communication readiness for the August Revolution

Establishment of Hanoi Post Office On October 10, 1954, in accordance with the Geneva Accords, the capital Hanoi was liberated. On that very day, revolutionary communication workers took over the Hanoi Post Office, including the telegraph and telephone systems left by the French. This date later became recognized as the official founding date of Hanoi Post Office.

Launch of Hanoi Automatic Telephone Exchange On May 1, 1960, the 3,000-line Hanoi Automatic Telephone Exchange was completed and officially put into operation. This was the first automatic telephone exchange in Hanoi and Northern Vietnam, marking a technical leap in telecommunications. During the resistance against the U.S., Hanoi’s telephone operators and line maintenance staff heroically ensured the security of the communication network.
